Emergency Sites

The following list of emergency sites is intended solely for the purpose of the dispensing of medications on a mass basis if the need arises. Each county has a primary and one or more secondary sites. The secondary sites will only be opened if there is a need to medicate/vaccinate more than half of the county population at any one time.

Stephenson County

Highland Community College (Primary)
2998 W. Pearl City Rd.
Freeport, IL 61032

Directions: Located on the west edge of Freeport at the intersection of Pearl City Road and Kiwanis Drive.

Lena-Winslow High School (Secondary)
516 North Fremont Street
Lena, IL 61048

Directions: If traveling west on Stagecoach Trail (a.k.a. Galena Road and Lena Street), turn right on Fremont Street (the first street to the right inside the village limits). If traveling from US Highway 20, travel north into Lena on Illinois Route 73; turn right (east) on Lena Street; stay on Lena Street for 3 blocks; turn left on Fremont Street).

Dakota High School (Secondary)
300 Campus Dr.
Dakota, IL 61018

Directions: Located in Dakota, IL, just west of IL Rt. 75 on North Dakota Road.

JoDaviess County

Galena High School (Primary)
1206 N. Franklin St.
Galena, IL 61036

Directions: Located in Galena, IL. Take U.S. Highway 20 West into Galena; go over the bridge; continue straight at the stoplight. At the crest of the hill, the road comes to a “Y.” The high school is on the right. (Franklin Street is a hard right. Look for the Triangle Motel.)

Stockton High School (Secondary)

Directions: Located in Stockton, IL, adjacent and immediately to the south of U.S. Highway 20 West.

Carroll County

Mt. Carroll Junior/Senior High School (Primary)
633 S. East St.
Mt. Carroll, IL 61052

Directions: Located in Mt. Carroll, IL, on the northwest corner of IL Rt. 64 and South East Street (5 blocks east of IL Rt. 78).

Savanna High School (Secondary)
500 Cragmoor Ave.
Savanna, IL 61074

Directions: Located in Savanna, IL. Coming into town from either direction on Hwy. 64, turn west onto Longmoor Ave. (Longmoor runs only west off Hwy. 64.) Proceed about 3 blocks west; take a right on Cragmoor.

Eastland High School (Secondary)

Lanark, IL 61046

Directions: Take IL Rt. 73 south into Lanark (Broad Street); go through downtown; turn left at School Drive, and proceed to the school.
